The company was founded in 1987, by Steve Taylor and Alan Bull, under the name of Combined Electrical Services. The core business of CES in its first 8 years of trading, was the supply of Motor Control Centres, Control Panels, ICA and Electrical Contracting. These products and services were provided across a broad spectrum of industry including: water and sewage, transfer and treatment, brewing, food, pharmaceutical, oil, gas, aviation and marine. By 1995 the nature of CES' business had developed such that it's core activities began to be focused more upon M & E solutions.

To pre-empt this market change CES created a Mechanical Engineering Division and offered its clients a full Mechanical package in addition to the existing Electrical Services. In 1997 CES was selected as a strategic M & E Contractor Partner by Wessex Water plc. At this time it's employees numbered 18 and turnover was £750k. To achieve better growth management the company restructured in 1998 and three more directors were appointed to the board. With the restructure its title changed to the current name Combined Electrical & Engineering Services Ltd. During the same year the company also created a Civil Engineering Division, thus giving the company the benefit of being able to offer a full turnkey facility to its clients.

Today CEES Ltd enjoys a turnover of £2.3m and currently, employs 28 employees. Recent events: Wessex Water plc has selected CEES Ltd as one of its framework suppliers for ICA works.
